What is an AI-native business process?
An AI-native business process is a workflow designed so AI agents can participate directly in the work. The agent gathers context from your systems, reasons over your business rules, coordinates with the tools your team already uses, requests human approval at sensitive steps, takes the approved action, evaluates the outcome, and feeds that signal back so the process improves over time.
AI-native vs AI-assisted vs traditional workflows
Traditional workflows are sequences of human and deterministic steps with reports bolted on. AI-assisted workflows add copilots and suggestion features that humans accept or reject one at a time. AI-native processes are different: the AI is a first-class participant inside the workflow, with permissions, tools, approval points, and outcome measurement designed into the system from day one.
- Traditional — humans drive every step; AI is absent or only in reports.
- AI-assisted — copilots make individual tasks faster; the workflow shape is unchanged.
- AI-native — the process is redesigned around what governed AI agents can reliably do.
Workflows that are good candidates
The best AI-native candidates combine repeatability, judgment, system breadth, and measurable business value. Bring us a workflow where several of the following are true and we can usually scope a pilot.
- It happens repeatedly across many requests, accounts, or tickets.
- Employees gather context from multiple systems before acting.
- Manual handoffs and approvals create delay or error.
- Exceptions require judgment but follow recognizable patterns.
- The result can be measured (cycle time, accuracy, cost per item).
Closed-loop agentic process architecture
Every AI-native process we ship is built on the same closed-loop architecture: capture work and signals → normalize and govern the inputs → retrieve permissioned context and memory → reason and plan → take or recommend an action → evaluate the outcome. The evaluation step is what makes the process actually improve, instead of degrading silently after launch.
Human approval, permissions, and governance
Sensitive actions never happen without an approver. We design explicit human-in-the-loop checkpoints, scope each agent's tools and permissions tightly, propagate source-system ACLs through retrieval, and log every action with traceable inputs and outputs so audit and compliance teams have a record they can defend.
Systems and integrations
AI-native processes only deliver value if they reach your real systems of record. We integrate with email, calendars, document stores, CRM, ERP, ticketing, finance, and custom internal systems via APIs and the Model Context Protocol (MCP) — so the same integrations are portable across models and frameworks.
Evaluation and outcome measurement
Every process ships with a golden test set, automated scorers, human review for subjective dimensions, and CI/CD gates that block regressions. Production traces are sampled into the evaluation set so coverage grows with usage and changes are caught before they reach customers.
Implementation roadmap
Most engagements follow the same arc: a focused 20-minute Workflow Triage, a short discovery and scoping phase, a fixed-scope pilot on a single measurable workflow, and then a managed AgentOps engagement as additional processes come online.
Example use cases
Each of the examples below is labeled by current maturity so you know what is in production today versus what is a reference architecture. We do not publish customer metrics until they are verified.
